February 5th 2019, the Norway Video Technology Community had our first meetup. It was truly inspiring and exciting to meet you all and to make history together. The first ever Norway Video Tech Meetup was a great success - thanks to the community, speakers and our organisers.
More than 50 pioneers of online video gathered to share knowledge, experience and ideas on our common favourite interest - online video - the technical aspects of this fantastic medium powered by the technology our community's, and in everyone in the global community of Video Tech Meetups have built and are building the next generation of today.
Norway Video Technology meetup is the Norwegian branch of the Global Video Technology Community. A place for anyone interested in the underlying technology behind video and video publishing: Online video, streaming, transcoding, codecs, advertising, open standards, and everything video. We focus on the engineering side and not the creative side, but creatives are welcome. We are a video technology focused community organised at least every other month, and strive to have two technical speakers present interesting knowledge and innovation in their daily life as video engineers.
The two very first speakers of the Norway Video Technology Community was;
- Sean Asbjørnsen, Movi, giving a deep technical overview of what is a video player, and why did we in Movi choose to rewrite a new from scratch.
- Dmitriy Bryokhin, Norigin Media, showcasing through live coding building of multiscreen video apps with React Native, to mobile, smart tvs and mobile.
We thank everyone for joining and hope you find this initiative useful and want to help us continuing to build and grow the community which is already off to a flying start.
We deeply appreciate your participation and look forward to the next meetup.
Norway Video Technology is part of a larger community of video engineers meeting up to discuss all things video in San Francisco, London, Barcelona, Sydney, Stockholm and Tel Aviv!
